DNASE1 gene expression decreases with COVID-19 disease severity. DNASE1 gene expression in PBMC of healthy control (n = 6) and COVID-19 (n = 7) were extracted from the published data set [14]. Box plot of group-level gene expression (aggregate log counts) of DNASE1 shows monotonic down-regulation (with increasing severity of illness) from the control group, to COVID-19 cases without ARDS (NonVent) and with ARDS. Statistical significance of the difference in DNASE1 transcript levels was calculated using analysis of variance (Anova)
