VRN-H1 haplotype designations are previously described [9]. 'Almunia', 'Athene', 'Birgit' and 'Express' (VRN-H1 haplotype 5C) are the only four winter varieties that do not belong to haplotype 1A. All included members of the spring VRN-H1 haplotype 1B form a sub-cluster within 6-row spring varieties (circled). The proportion of the total variation accounted for by component 1 (PCO1) and 2 (PCO2) is shown in brackets.
