The clustered arrangement of the sperm-expressed SPE-8 paralogs on Chromosome IV. The locations of the genes are based upon their nucleotide position, and those above the line are encoded on the positive strand, whereas those below the line are on the negative strand. Known spe genes are also shown. Chromosomal regions highlighted in red indicate known sperm gene clusters [17], and bold font indicates the two sperm genes on Chromosome IV with a sterile knockout phenotype.
