Agarose gel analysis of gDNA isolated from DBS (A), whole blood (WB) and umbilical cord (UC; B) samples. Lamda-HindIII marker was used as indicated. For DBS 10 ng of gDNA and for WB and UC 50 ng of gDNA were loaded. PCR amplification of the human β-actin gene (325 bp) is shown (C). 100 bp marker (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Hemel Hempstead, UK) is indicated on the left. Equal volumes of PCR reactions were loaded on a 2% TAE agarose gel. Images were inverted using Adobe Photoshop™ to highlight details.
