Figure 3

From: A composite six bp in-frame deletion in the melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R) gene is associated with the Japanese brindling coat colour in rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus)

Figure 3

Electropherograms showing the amplified MC1R fragments obtained from different sources. MC1R product amplified from A) cDNA obtained from a black hair skin region of a Rhinelander rabbit, B) cDNA obtained from a red hair skin region of a Rhinelander rabbit (the same result was obtained in white hair skin regions), C) genomic DNA isolated from a black hair skin region of a Rhinelander rabbit, D) genomic DNA isolated from a red hair skin region of a Rhinelander rabbit, E) genomic DNA isolated from blood of a Rhinelander rabbit, F) genomic DNA isolated from blood of a Checkered Giant rabbit. No amplification was obtained in B. The Rhinelander rabbit was homozygous for allele c.[124A;125_130del6] (eJ) and the Checkered Giant rabbit was homozygous for allele c.280_285del6 (EDor ES). The size of the amplified fragments is reported in the boxes below the electrophoretic peaks.
