Note: TBLASTN search against GenBank EST_others dataset (Gadus morhua, taxid: 8049) was performed using the entire amino acid Hb sequence or with sequences 21 amino acids long: e.g. ten amino acids on each side of the polymorphic site. The search performed with the sequences 21 amino acids long was carried out in order to find ESTs associated with a particular polymorphism.
